Expectations, Grading, and Required Materials
Welcome to the ConneXions Band Family! Whether you're a 6th grade beginner or a 9th grade new member, we're thrilled to welcome you to our Band Program, where music builds discipline, teamwork, and self-expression. Get ready for a year of rehearsals, performances, and creative growth — let's make music together!
Expectations
Expectations: All Students are expected to:
Attend after school rehearsals and performances on time AND prepared
Bring their instrument, music, folder, pencil, and all required materials to each and every class.
Show respect to fellow musicians, teachers, and instruments
Practice daily at home (15-30 minutes are recommended, more is always appreciated)
Maintain a positive attitude and be ready to learn
Grading
Students Grades are based on:
Participation and preparedness
EFFORT
Performance assessments (will be recorded and sent to parent/guardian)
Evidence of practicing at home
Written Assignments
Concert Attendance (Please note, all concerts are mandatory. If your student(s) does not attend a
concert, it is highly likely that they will fail for that quarter).
Required Materials
Each student will need
1. An Instrument (if your student has their own instrument they are more than welcome to bring it to and from school. If not, student will be issued one from school)
2. A folder to keep music and other worksheets in
3. PENCIL only. Please refrain from using pens in this class
4. Cleaning and care supplies specific to their instrument
